Koya, designed in collaboration with Incalmi, is the result of extensive research into natural fibers and weaving techniques, which the designer and the company have been pursuing in parallel for several years.

It is a formal, aesthetic, and above all technical exploration of various weaves and fibers from around the world, ranging from chestnut and hazel wood in Italian tradition to bamboo and rattan in Asian heritage.
The experimentation with rattan and its multiple processing methods led to the creation of Koya, a product characterized by the combination of different weaving techniques, spanning from Eastern styles to local ones, inherited from the ancient Venetian basket-making school of Barbisano.
The project is completed with an in-depth study of fiber dyeing, achieved using natural resins extracted from the plant itself.
